Torch Run
For Special Olympics
Hartington has been chosen to be a host city for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics on Tuesday, July 13 at 9:30 a.m.
Law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes will act as Guardians of the Flame and will begin their run at the schools in Hartington near the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Park Street. They will proceed down Broadway Avenue to the north to the Bank of Hartington, turn west on Main St, continue to Highway 57where they will turn south and proceed to Highway 84 turn East and finish at the First Congregational Church basement where a ceremony will be held hosted by the Hartington Chamber of Commerce.
This honorable event will precede the Special Olympics USA National Games opening ceremonies held in Lincoln on July 18, 2010. Refreshments will be served.
